Candi is a Fort Worth native. She attended TCU and received a BA degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She majored in history and political science and earned a teacher certification. Candi taught high school history for 31 glorious years traveling extensively through Europe with her students. She really enjoyed watching history come alive. She retired in 2015 from Aledo High School. Candi acquired her General Lines insurance license upon retirement from teaching. She joined Gus Bates Financial Services in 2016 and serves as a referral source and Administrative Assistant.

Candi is married to Ronnie Proctor. They reside in Willow Park. Ronnie was inducted in the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2003 and has been inducted into other Texas regional rodeo Rings of Honor. They have three sons; Drew, Dustin, and Shane and four grandchildren; Emily, Kinley, Anika, and Callen Proctor. Candi is an avid reader and a TCU football season ticket holder and die-hard fan. Candi and Ronnie love to travel throughout the United States.
